Monday was a very hard day for me. It was filled with way to many goodbyes. What a sad day, to have to say goodbye to such wonderful people. I guess it's really not goodbye, only see you later. Such a cliche I know, but it's true because we have already talked multiple times about where ever our travels take us we will have people to stay with and see all over the world. What an amazing thought! I have always wanted to travel through Europe and what better way than with the friends I have met who live in these countries. I haven't even officially finished this trip and we are already planning out next. So very exciting.
I can't say it enough but I cannot believe my month in Costa Rica is up. It has been an amazing journey that I would do all over again in a heartbeat. Not only have the people I have met changed my outlook on life but also the culture I have been immersed into. It is such a different life here and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Everything here is so different, from spending 5 hours on a bus (each way!) traveling every weekend across the country, to the food, to the atmosphere and even the people. I cannot thank my parents enough for helping this dream of mine become a reality. This has been an experience that will last a lifetime. I have made friendships I never thought I would make that I also know will last a very long time. There's something about all going through the same experience that you make an inseparable bond. Being immersed into the Costa Rican culture and language has been a journey in itself and I am pleased to say that I understand it so much more now then when I first came. I hope that I will be able to continue practicing my Spanish so I don't lose it again.
I am going to miss the fabulous family who so graciously let me stay in their home and made breakfast and dinner for me every night. It was a blessing to have them and they were wonderful with helping me with my spanish. We even shared a few jokes along the way.
I sit at home now, waiting for the taxi to pick me up and take me to the airport. Even though I am sad to be leaving it feels good to be heading home. I hope you have all enjoyed following my journey almost as much I have enjoyed living it! When I am home again I will post more photos of my trip.
Love,
Starting the next chapter of my life.
